What Is Women's History Month?

Beginning in 1982, the United States designated a week in March as "Women's History Week." This expanded in 1987 to a full month, intended to celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States, recognize women's achievements throughout history, and appreciate the struggle for women's rights.
