About the Artist

Richard C. Wood was an art professor at Centenary University from 1973 until his retirement in 1997. Born in Suifu, China on November 15, 1932, R. C. Wood was an established artist. Earning a B.F.A degree from Rhode Island School of Design, an M.F.A. from Temple University, Wood also appeared in theatre productions throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as participating in choirs and choral groups throughout his life.

R. C. Wood's first art exhibit at Centenary University was in the Ferry Gallery in 1973, and he has been once again exhibited at Taylor Memorial Library in honor of Black History Month for the past few Februarys.

Current Centenary art and music professor Joseph Coco helped restore and arrange the paintings, preparing them for exhibition.
