Advanced Research for the Dissertation

Find Articles Based on Methodology / Research Design

Most academic databases do not offer a field or filter for research methodology. One key exception to this is PsycINFO.
Your best bet for building a research method facet to your search is as follows:
  1. Use the Advanced Search screen
  2. In one of your search boxes, type in your desired research design - e.g. action research, quantitative, survey or questionnaire research, etc. - and select the field, 'Abstract'.
  3. Put quotation marks around words that you would expect to appear as a phrase, e.g. "action research"
  4. In the other search boxes, type in your search terms. Then run the search.
