CITING ARCHIVAL SOURCES

Citing Sources from Centenary University Archives

There is no one correct way to cite archival primary sources and it will depend on the writing style being used (APA, MLA, etc.)

Published and unpublished materials accessible only through the university should include Centenary University Archives as the Author/Creator. If the materials are digital, include the url and date the page was accessed. Other information to include will depend on the specific item or collection you wish to cite:

  1. Author or creator's name (Centenary University Archives)
  2. Title of the work
  3. Date
  4. Publication information
  5. Collection name
  6. Box and folder
  7. Repository/Institution name (Centenary University Digital Repository/Centenary University)
  8. Access Date
  9. URL or DOI
