Information about Taylor Memorial Library

Taylor Memorial Library & Archives

Did you know that you are more likely to succeed as a college student when you use the library?  While you may not yet have an assigned research project, the library at Centenary is a great place to hang out, meet new people, and exchange ideas. Whether you like studying in complete silence or in a group setting with your friends, the library has the space for you. There are a number of public access computers, a scanner, and a printer for student use. Need a study break? No problem. The library has a revolving puzzle table and a growing collection of classic and contemporary board games to play anywhere in the library!

Taylor Memorial Library contains a variety of materials for both research and personal use. There are 40,000+ print books and 90+ academic databases on all subjects related to the learning, research, and teaching interests of the University faculty, staff, and students. The fiction, children’s, and academic sections are always growing! There are also popular DVDs available to borrow, 170,000+ ebooks to download, and print magazines to browse. The library has a great collection of Centenary University history too. The library staff creates displays, offers lectures, and digitizes material for anyone interested in learning more about the history of the school. You are sure to find something you will enjoy! Materials not currently available at the Library may be requested through interlibrary loan.

Don’t forget the librarians! They are your most powerful resource. Be sure to say hello so that when a research project comes along, you can reconnect and get the assistance you need. They are available to meet with students who need research help in any subject area, whether in small groups or one-on-one. It’s even easy to make an appointment online! Research assistance is also available via email, phone, and chat, while a variety of class instruction services are available upon request.
